Greetings! Thought I would keep you posted!!!

On October 6, Exceptional Green Living on Rosa Parks was approved by Detroit City Council with a 8-0 “YES” vote to move forward. It was passed with a “WAIVER” which means they cannot change their minds or take the vote back. We are moving into our 2^ndphase or our pre-development plan to lay our groundwork for construction of a Model Home, prepare condo docs, pull permits, pour the foundation and purchasing the shipping containers! We can accomplish these tasks and ensure a summer/fall grand opening.

A leap of faith… perseverance and a great team sure paid off because on October 6, 2009 the Detroit City Council voted UNANIMOUSLY (8-0) to approve the 3 resolutions needed to begin our project. What this means is now we are able to proceed to the land sale from the City (will take 2-3 weeks)—then we can proceed with the timeline on ground breaking & construction. Our goal is to pour the foundation in October… this will keep the Rosa Parks project on target for a winter/spring completion.Our primary goal today is finalizing our funding so the engineers can work full time on our project and we can purchase the 3 small City-owned lots, pull permits, build a sales model, pour concrete and pre-sell units! Now with the City approvals, we can open new doors of funding that were closed to us… with that said we are aggressively seeking funding in 3 stages … full steam ahead.

Planning And Economic Committee Says “YES”

YES – today we received a “YES” vote to move Exceptional Green Living on Rosa Parks to City Council for the official approval on October 6!

Detroit City Council’s Planning & Economic Committee has sent a resolution to Detroit City Council for a formal vote to approve the project. Once the vote is complete, we can move forward with construction plans. Keep posted as we create history!

CPC VOTES YES!

On August 6, Detroit’s City Planning Commission voted with a resounding “YES” to approve Exceptional Green Living on Rosa Parks. This votes follows months of cooperation between staff of City Planning Commission and Planning & Development Department of which we are extremely grateful.

What happens next? The City Planning Commission forwards the project to City legal department to draft the language to take to City Council for a final vote via City Council’s Planning and Economic Committee in September. Once we receive the final “go ahead”- we can pull permits and start construction!

Special thanks to our City advocates Chris Rashtke (P & DD) and Tony Jeffries (CPC)– two of the shining stars who have “put up” with us over the past year- they, among a long list of others have shown patience and professionalism during this long haul. Thank You.

Woodbridge CDC Gives Recommendation!

On Thursday, May 14 the newly formed Woodbridge Citizen’s District Council voted (6-2) to give their recommendation to the City Planning & Development Department to proceed with the Woodbridge Plan Development Change as well as a recommendation for the land purchase and support for our project- Exceptional Green Living on Rosa Parks to move forward! Thank you!

City Planning Commission is next! Looking for a vote on July 23, 2009.

Housing Commission Approves Land Purchase

We are pleased to announce that on March 19 the Housing Commission has officially approved the land purchase of our project Exceptional Green Living on Rosa Parks. This was a necessary step towards our goal of breaking ground this June. We have 3 more city entities & public hearings to present to and receive approval from… City Planning Commission, City Council’s Econimic & Planning Committee and City Council.

On March 12, we gave a presentation to the newly formed Woodbridge Citizen’s District Council-they had excellent questions and will give their recommendation to the City’s Planning & Development Department in April. Congratulations to the new CDC & good luck with all your endeavors.

Well as we begin 2009 we have many great accomplishments to be proud of and greatful for. Exceptional Green Housing on Rosa Parks is closer to becoming a reality. We are working diligently with the City of Detroit entities to drudge through the approval process and have actually been approved for our Brownfield Tax Credit. If all goes as planned, we break ground in April 2009 and expect a completion date of July. More news to follow.

Wewhoo… Brownfield Is Passed!

We received a 6-2 vote in favor of our Brownfield Tax Credit from Detroit’s City Council today. What a great milestone for Exceptional Green Living on Rosa Parks to accomplish. A special thank you to all those supporters of our project… here we go.

Just One More Week…

Exceptional Green Living on Rosa Parks is receiving some very special treatment… our Brownfield Tax Credit vote from City Council was postponed one more week pending the review from the City Planning & Development Department and the City Planning Commission. So we will march ourselves back downtown next Tuesday (10/28) at 10:00 am ready to answer any additional questions they may have before approving our Brownfield Tax Credit. In the meantime, it’s appropriate to contact the honorable members of Detroit’s City Council to voice your support!

As a team, we are A-OK, on target and moving forward on all other fronts of this great project.
